Limestone Journeys Scheme Manager
Job Purpose:
To manage and coordinate the effective delivery of the Limestone Journeys Landscape Partnership Scheme.
Limestone Journeys is an HLF funded Landscape Partnership Scheme located in the district of Bolsover (North-east Derbyshire). This is a key strategic post within the scheme office which will provide the principle co-ordinating link between the Scheme Office, the Limestone Journeys Steering Group, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the key delivery partners and stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of effective project management and setting business plan objectives in partnership with other stakeholders which in this scheme will meet the landscape partnership’s strategic aims as defined with the Landscape Conservation Action Plan and approved by the Heritage Lottery Fund. You will have sound project, leadership, organisational and financial management experience as well as being an excellent communicator.
Limestone Journeys has four main programme areas which you will be responsible for overseeing.
• Conserving and restoring Limestone Journeys. A programme of activity that conserves and restores the unique cultural and natural heritage assets of the Southern Magnesian Limestone landscape within the District of Bolsover.
• Personal journeys. A programme of activity which actively engages local communities in the natural and cultural heritage in order to increase the awareness and understanding by communities and celebrating how rich and distinctive the assets are on the Magnesian Limestone
• Gateways to landscape journeys. A programme of activity to enhance the physical access to the countryside and encouraging under-represented groups to engage in specific activity.
• Journeys of discovery. A programme of activity that provides training and skills development in practical conservation and heritage interpretation and through a life-long learning programme and the development of social and cultural capital creates the opportunity for sustainability.
The nature of this project will mean that occasional weekend and evening work is required for which time off in lieu will be granted.
£28,000 per annum (fixed term contract ending 31st December 2015)
