Three
local history groups from Derbyshire got together this summer
to discover what heritage their communities had in common.
The result was a touring exhibition of a choice selection
from the photographic archives of Elmton and Creswell, Langwith/Whaley
Thorns and Shirebrook, which visited summer fairs and galas.
Pride of Place assisted them to express the varied past
they share, from mines to farming, from street scenes to
local characters. 500 people came to discover the heritage
of their backyard.
