• Crags Loop

  The Museum and Education Centre is just one of the starting points for this circular walk of 7 miles. 

  The walk explores the limestone area around Creswell Crags and visits the nearby limestone gorge of Markland and Hollinhill Grips. The free leaflet has been developed by Whitwell Parish Council and Whitwell Local History Group. To obtain a copy contact The Manager at Whitwell Community Centre Tel: 01909 723490.

• Creswell Archaeological Way

  This fascinating trail links some of the archaeological treasures to be discovered on the borders of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.

  It starts at the Meden Trail car park in Pleasley Vale on Outgang Lane, and heads north for 13 miles, finishing at Whitwell. Hidden heritage abounds, taking the visitor back in time from the Old Stone Age to recent industrial history. This trail connects with Whitwell Churches Loop, Whitwell Village Loop, Markland Loop and Creswell Crags Loop. • Robin Hood Way

  The Robin Hood Way is a well established long distance route of 105 miles travelling through the county of Nottinghamshire.

  Starting at Nottingham Castle and finally finishing at Edwinstowe church, the trail explores the haunts of famous outlaws and many other hidden delights including Creswell Crags. The route is divided up into several short sections allowing you to pace yourself or select your favourite sections.
