This drawing by Magens Mello and Boyd Dawkins in 1876 shows a plan of the entrance to Church Hole and a longitudinal profile of the cave. The dates marked to the left of the plan show when each section of the cave was cleared of deposit and it becomes obvious how quickly they were working. The longitudinal profile was published in 1877.
