Fieldwork drawings of sediments in Robin Hood Cave by J.M.Mello and W.B.Dawkins in 1876.
This series of schematic cross sections was drawn by Magens Mello and Boyd Dawkins in 1876. They show the deposits encountered at Robin Hood Cave at different points in their excavation. These profiles provide only a simplistic impression of what must have been a complex series of sediments probably spanning some 60,000 years. Much higher standards are required today and such drawings would now be considered inadequate..
