Photograph of A.L. Armstrong and G.A.Garfitt outside Mother Grundy's Parlour

Black and white photograph of A.L. Armstrong (left) and G.A. Garfitt (right) in front of Mother Grundy’s Parlour. Clearly visible in front of the cave, the entrance to which was blocked with a timber barricade, is the area which was excavated by these men between 1923 and 1925. These excavations found abundant evidence of Late Upper Palaeolithic and Mesolithic activity.
