Tool marks made on bone from a large mammal from Mother Grundy’s Parlour. Age unknown
This is a fragment of bone from an unidentifiable large mammal. It was excavated by A.L. Armstrong after 1923 from Mother Grundy’s Parlour, Creswell Crags. Examination of the surface shows a group of approximately parallel grooved lines which could either be cut marks created with a flint knife during filleting away meat or, when more complete, the bone was perhaps used as a cutting surface. The age of this bone is unknown .
