Fundraising

You can make a difference

You may not realise it but we’re a registered charity.Your visit is greatly valued and supports our work as an independent educational and conservation charity, but there are lots of other ways you can help us.  For almost 30 years, our visitors have been able to experience and learn about our Ice Age ancestors and the unique site they visited.

Did you know?

it costs over £320,000 a year to run Creswell Crags.

We do receive a small (but essential) amount of public funding but this is rapidly decreasing; securing alternative sources of income is essential to ensure that we maintain our services. This means that we have to raise funds through tour and exhibition fees, parking, our shop and cafe and generous donations from our visitors and supporters.

By supporting us on Patreon you have the option to receive access to online content, including Q&A sessions with our team and on-demand recordings of our online talks series

There are three levels of membership starting at just £3 per month, each with a different range of benefits.

Please remember we can claim Gift Aid, because we are a charity. We can claim back 25p per £1 donated to us – this can be claimed back from tours, exhibition entry, and on any donations we gratefully receive. We just need to take a few details such as name, postcode and house number, and get a signature from you. So, if you’re a UK taxpayer, don’t forget to say you wish to Gift Aid!

JIM'S MOWER APPEAL - Update

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising campaign to buy a ride on mower for our Conservation Team, and in particular Ranger Jim.

Jim has been really touched by the response, and your generous donations reached a huge £740.

We are very excited to say that a ride-on mower has been donated by a local resident who would like to remain anonymous. The mower is a good-quality model, but needed new tyres, a new battery and a service, which your generations donations have enabled to purchase.

Making good use of something second-hand will also reduce our environmental impact compared to buying brand new.

We have also been able to replace our petrol push mower using your donations, which is an added bonus!
So we extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated, and to our very generous local for the donation of their pre-loved mower.

This particular fundraising campaign has now been closed, but we still need your support to continue our amazing work. You can find out ways to support us via the fundraising section of our website, or by visiting us and enjoying time in the museum, on a cave tour, or in the café and shop!

And if you're a UK taxpayer, don't forget to Gift Aid! We get more for you donation, without it costing you.

Legacies - Remember us in your Will

Creswell Crags is a beautiful and peaceful place, that we know many people have incredibly fond memories of, and holds a special place in people’s hearts.

However we are a small, independent charity, and rely on help and support.

It’s a big decision, but after you’ve provided for your family and friends you might like to also remember us with a gift in your Will. Your donation will be helping to make sure that future generations can experience the site and discover our Ice Age ancestors.

Your solicitor will be able to advise you of course, however you will need the following information to be included in your Will:

Charity name: Creswell Heritage Trust
Address: Crags Road, Welbeck, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, UK, S80 3LH
Registered charity number: 701683

In Memory

Donations in lieu of flowers are commonplace these days, so if our site holds fond and special memories for a loved one, an in-memory donation can provide a lasting way to celebrate and mark their life.

Collections can be arranged through a funeral director or donations can be sent to the Management Team at: Creswell Crags Crags Road, Welbeck, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, UK, S80 3LH
